Where the Cantilever Sliding Gate fits
Cantilever gates carry their weight on rollers set back from the opening, so nothing crosses the driveway at ground level. That suits sites where a track would fill with silt, snow or debris, where the ground across the opening is uneven, and where heavy vehicles crossing a rail would damage it or be damaged by it.

The cost is a heavier structure, a longer counterbalance tail and a more substantial foundation, and the run-back space needed is greater than the opening width.
