Safety Railings vs the alternatives
Against fixed barriers or fencing, railing is designed for edge protection where people work and walk, with a toe-guard at floor level so tools and materials cannot be kicked off onto someone below. Against a simple rail, a proper system includes the toe-guard and mid-rail, and it is these that turn a visual boundary into actual protection.
