What the RFID Boom Barrier is, and who it suits

The RFID Boom Barrier is a type of boom barriers used across factories, gated campuses, toll points and parking facilities. It is built to order at our Neemrana plant, installed and commissioned by our own engineers, and supported afterwards with spares and maintenance. See the full Boom Barriers range, the sectors we serve, or every product line.

Where the RFID Boom Barrier is typically installed
  • Factory and plant main entrances
  • Warehouse and logistics yards
  • Gated campuses and townships
  • Parking entries and exits
  • Toll and weighbridge lanes
  • Security gatehouses
What to send us for an accurate quote
  • Clear opening width and the run available for the gate to travel
  • Gate leaf weight or approximate size
  • Power available at the gate position
  • Whether vehicles are read by RFID, ANPR or operated manually
  • Daily vehicle volume and number of lanes
  • Site levels and the condition of the running surface

Send these with your enquiry and an engineer replies with a drawing and a written delivery date, rather than a generic response. Talk to an engineer →

Applications

Where the RFID Boom Barrier fits

Entrances where authorised vehicles should not have to stop: staff car parks, gated communities, logistics yards, campuses. UHF tags read at up to 10m mean the barrier is already rising as the vehicle approaches, so nobody winds down a window or presents a card.

Choosing

RFID Boom Barrier vs the alternatives

Against a card or remote-operated barrier, hands-free reading removes the stop entirely, which at a busy entrance is the difference between flowing and queuing. Against a ticket-based parking barrier, tags only work for vehicles you can issue one to, so visitors still need a separate route. Most sites end up running both.

Before you enquire

Specifying an RFID Boom Barrier

Tell us how many vehicles need tags and whether visitors also use the lane, since that decides whether a second method is needed. Confirm the read range you want and the lane geometry, because antenna placement determines whether the right vehicle is read. Say whether tag data should feed into an access or parking system.

FAQs

RFID Boom Barrier: Frequently Asked Questions

How far away is a tag read?
Up to 10m with UHF long-range tags. In practice the useful range is set by antenna placement and lane geometry, so the barrier opens for the vehicle in the lane rather than one waiting behind it.
Will it read the wrong vehicle in a queue?
It can if the antenna is poorly sited, which is the main thing commissioning gets right. The read zone is aimed at the lane position where the authorised vehicle sits, not broadcast across the forecourt.
How do visitors get in?
They need another method, because a tag can only be issued in advance. Most sites run an intercom, a ticket dispenser or a guard-operated control alongside the tag lane.
What happens if a tag is lost or a vehicle is sold?
Tags are deregistered in the system, so the barrier stops opening for them. That control is the practical advantage of tags over remotes, which keep working for whoever holds them.
Do tags work through a windscreen?
Standard windscreen tags are designed for it, but metallised or heated windscreens can interfere. Tell us the vehicle types and we will advise on tag format rather than discovering it at commissioning.
Which regions do you install and service in?
We install and service across India, with a strong on-ground presence in the NCR & Haryana corridor (Gurugram, Manesar, Bhiwadi, Neemrana, Bawal, Faridabad, Noida, Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh and Delhi) and the Gujarat belt (Ahmedabad, Sanand, Vithlapur and Mandal). See our Areas We Serve page for the full list.
Do you provide installation, spares and AMC?
Yes. We handle manufacture, installation, genuine spare parts and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) nationwide, a single vendor for the full lifecycle of your boom barriers.
Is the RFID Boom Barrier certified?
Our manufacturing is ISO 9001 certified and products are CE marked for clients who require it.
