Where the Aluminium Rolling Shutter fits
Extruded 6063-T5 aluminium suits openings where weight and appearance matter more than brute impact strength: shopfronts, showrooms, office entrances, and buildings in coastal or humid locations. A lighter curtain is easier to move, lets a smaller motor do the work, and stays practical to operate by hand at sizes where a steel curtain would not.
Aluminium Rolling Shutter vs the alternatives
Against steel, aluminium's advantages are that it does not corrode and that it is markedly lighter. Its disadvantage is real and worth stating plainly: it is softer, so it dents where steel would shrug off the same knock, which makes it the wrong choice for a bay with forklift traffic. Against galvanized steel, aluminium never rusts even at a cut edge, but galvanized steel absorbs impact far better. Anodised or powder-coated finishes are available across more than 200 RAL colours.
Specifying an Aluminium Rolling Shutter
Tell us whether the finish should be anodised or powder-coated to a RAL colour, and give the colour reference if you are matching a brand or a facade. Describe the exposure, since coastal air is exactly where aluminium earns its place. Most importantly, be candid about traffic: if anything harder than a hand trolley passes through the opening regularly, we will suggest a steel curtain instead and explain why.
