Where the Perforated Rolling Shutter fits
Perforated curtains suit openings that must stay secure without going blind: mall units where the window display should still work after closing, showrooms, and plant or parking areas that need air to move through a closed opening. The punched or grille-style laths let light, air and sightlines through while the opening remains physically shut.
Perforated Rolling Shutter vs the alternatives
Against a solid shutter, you trade weather-tightness and privacy for visibility and airflow. A perforated curtain is not a weather barrier, and should not be specified where driven rain reaches the opening. Against a polycarbonate shutter, the difference is airflow: polycarbonate gives a clear view through a sealed curtain, while perforation gives ventilation but no protection from the elements. Choose by asking whether you need to see through it, breathe through it, or both.
Specifying a Perforated Rolling Shutter
Decide what the perforation is actually for, because ventilation and visibility want different patterns. Tell us whether rain can reach the opening. Say what the security expectation is, since the open area of the curtain affects it. Where only part of the opening needs to be seen through, a part-solid, part-perforated curtain is often the better answer and is worth raising at enquiry.
